Thought oh! great a little piece of history, it turns out to be the best bit of sanitization going, checked on New Brighton with expectations of the Lighthouse and Fort Perch Rock being in the forefront of New Brighton history and both appear to be purged out of the picture, who would have guessed that, will check later to disprove myself.

Can't get over the cars in the pics they look so old !!. It says the police band have recently given up, i thought they where still going ??.

I remember seeing a real Domesday system on a BBC Master computer in pleasure island (Garden Festival site) in the early 90's. It used a huge laserdisk and trackerball.

It was quite primative (and very expensive) stuff but it worked well. The content is a bit naff in comparison with GIS (electronic maps) but it was quite groundbreaking for the day.

Many of the people that contributed to it never got to see the finished results.
