Fire crews called to blazes in Wirral

Dec 6 2011 by John Sutton, Liverpool Echo

TWO people suffered smoke inhalation following a blaze in a Merseyside flat.

Fire crews were called to Woodland Road, in Upton, just after 4pm yesterday.

A 50-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman were treated at the scene.

A pan of food had caught light to start the fire.

There was also a small fire in a terraced house in Borough Road East, Wallasey, just before 3pm yesterday.

Three fire engines attended the scene and put the blaze out by 3.20pm.

This baffles me it really does!

How people can be so bloody careless is beyond me no

At least there were no injuries eh, be more carefull next time or get rid of the cooker and use a microwave if your incompetent enough to use the cooker.
Better still use the chippy!

Chip pan I bet, these used to be very common, my next door neighbour had a chip pan fire, ours went up once but as long as you act quick and know how to put it out (not with water) then its an easy fix

A lot seem to be caused by people trying to cook whilst pissed or hammered on other substances snob

An ex of mine years ago nearly set the Nurses Home alight when he came in pissed and decided he wanted sausage butties. He put the deep fat fryer on in the communal corridor and then passed out. Thankfully someone wanted a pee and it didn't get too out of hand (no they didn't piss on it, despite the way I've written it raftl ).

Years ago, I was in the shower and there was a bloody big moth flying around the light, freaking me out!!!

So, how did I deal with the situation???

By aiming the shower hose at the light bulb and left wondering why the water went cold and all the electricity went off!!!

Hahahaha, silly me!! raftl
