I'm sure that someone can put me out of my misery and tell me the name of the now boarded up Pub on the Dock Road Wallasey, it's located on the opposite side of the road to the old spillers buildings, towards the junction of Kelvin Road.

It was the 'Swan Hotel' in it's day. Then became 'The Stump' and finally 'Bonkers' before it closed.

I worked in the Pub when it was the Swan, loved it!
It was packed every friday and saturday night, always had live bands on too.
I hate driving past it now seeing it in the mess that its in.

Oddly, it was originally called "The Swan", but everyone called "the stump" or "the blazing stump" as it was alleged that an elderly man used to poke the fire with his wooden leg, which caught fire on one occassion.

The Pub was later renamed "the stump" to reflect the local's name for it, whereupon some people started calling it "The Swan" out of sheer cussedness....

It later it bacme "Bonkers" - the beginning of the end.
