the only differences i knew of where the position of the wording DOHC 16V on the spark plug cover and the type of cambelt used, but of course the spark plug cover can be changed and the cam belt is covered so i was stuffed. the exchange unit booklet form vauxhalls didnt even say which engine it was. Oh well its in now and they havent rang so they must have the correct parts for it as they said they got in the later c20xe cambelt kit.

That's a good price for cambelt, I was quoted 400 quid. Strange about the engine number, has it been ground off or something?

there are quite a few diffrences with the cam kit i just had a new oil pump which cost me £298+vat but there was 2 types the best way to find out is wether u have a dizzy or coilpack when i orderd all my parts when i had all my major engine work done i jus told them its the engine with an coilpack on the end of the cam an they found my bits quite easy . as for the missing engine number wont that cause problems with the new mots system cos i think they have to put that in on the computer as has to have the number on the log book
