cheers fellas, makes all the blood and sweat worth it. much appreciated, just going to enjoy driving it (when its not breaking down) and try and keep it in one piece!
always looking for those bigger bunches of bananas!
well i have been enjoying it so far! she has got a few mile on her now. had a few problems with batterys and alternators, but new ones solved that problem. shes travel to blackpool and back twice, going strong. snapped the front engine steady bolt, so a new one was used. also fitted a rear engine steady. also oil found a nice way of leaking out the oil cap, dipstick, and out of the breathers. i've fixed this (hopefully) by fitting a oil catch system to the engine. aswell as using both standard breather points, i drilled and tap a point into the rocker cover. the zip ties are only there for a day till i can get some jubliee clips.

right so some progress for you all. 3000miles later and i want more power! so what do i do? fit programable ignition thats what!
what is programable ignition i hear you say? well most modern cars have an ignition map inside the ecu, this caters for all what the enigne needs but is fixed. older cars like mine have the trusty distributor and coil, while good and cheap are very limiting. the good thing about programable ignition is you can adjust it to suit your needs, whether wanting more economy or more power. plus its also cheap at only £100 for the megajolt, and the other bits have only cost me £50 so far.
in order to run megajolt you need some basic early ford bits. edis 4 ignition module, a coil pack (with leads to suit) a trigger wheel (36 - 1 vairant) with vr sensor. one other thing i needed was a distributor blank.
all here
with the programable igntion shown here
first job was to remove the dizzy, and the gear it drives
then fit the trigger wheel anc check for clearance
proposed location of the coil pack, and vr sensor fitted
and here is the edis module
just have the wiring to sort out tomorrow, and she should be running hopefully. i plan on upping the boost to 10psi. testing will be on thursday and if all goes well i should be at the meet later on! i will get a rolling road sesion book for next month and find how many ponies she puts out, and fine tune her.
