It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses

Can't speak for the 100mb bb but their "up to 30mb" broadband is great. Only once in the past 4 years has the connection been down. But it was back on within an hour.
Download speeds and PS3 online are fantastic...

What will you be using it for?

I think Virgin only wanted a couple of quid extra per month for it so I went for it.

First few days the router plays up (but I've had it done on two places now and both have been the same),

Seems quite stable, HATES you having extra wireless routers plugged into it and you have you have to force it to allow them, oh and Webroot sees the whole thing as a threat and blocks it smile

Speed itself is good and they leave you alone with huge downloads.

The 50mb line was pretty good. Got about 47mb downstream on average and as promised there was no traffic shaping or bandwidth limitations/penalties for downloading or uploading huge amounts of data. Though with that said I did get told off by a virgin engineer one weekend while uploading.

On the downside I believe Virgin do DPI now so if that concerns you make sure you read the contract before you sign it.

Well i do want to download and upload LFD2 games etc, music and divx etc and also use skype a little bit, and the torrents sites (legal wink ) I used to have there 20mb and i liked it but downloaded over 60gb in 2 days and they reduced me down to 3mb!! so that why i want to go for the 100mb.

100mb XL tv 2 tivo boxes and phone line is coming in at £76 a month.

whats DPI?

I have the 100mb service and it is good, the only down side i have found is finding a server that will actually give you a fast enough speed to take advantage of it haha, but you can download at 12mB/s and upload at 1.2mB/s - probably the best u/d ratio on an asymmetric line in the area!

The ratio on BT Infinity in Heswall is pretty good too. 40Mbit download and 10Mbit upload. Next year it'll be 80Mbit down 20Mbit up. We don't have VM here.
