With regards to oil, I used to use Castrol GTX Magnatec all the time, however, I found out that all the taxi drivers were using Shell Helix and research has proven that it is a much better oil for keeping your engine running well over long periods of time. It cleans better then any oil and makes your engine feel far newer and more pleasent to drive. Of course, Magnatec has an advatage with regards to protecting the engine during cold starts, but otherwise Shell Helix is widely regarded to be the better oil. I use it myself and whilst it does not feel loads better then running on Magnatec, there is a difference and the engine does feel better for longer. I recommend you add Wynns Supercharge Oil Addative to your oil. Also, consider Wynns Xtreme, I use this as well as Supercharge. They improve performance and quieten your engine but most importantly they help protect the insides of your engine and make the oil last upto double the amount of miles it usually would!

Since I got the cambelt changed, my car was constantly overheating. I was getting really p*ssed off with it and decided in the end to spend a tenner on coolant and de-ionised water, drained the radiators, pure sh*t came out of it then poured about 6 litres back into the overflow and it just seemed to go through the system. Must of had an air pocket in it, seems ok now. Not getting power loss in high revs any more either, so looks like it'll be fit for the rolling road Anyway, had my oil change today (£25 + £1 for oil dispoasal) from National opposite central station. When I was warming up the engine, the damn squeek came back! They put shitty oil in too, but ahh well, least its changed. Squeek seems to have gone for now, so it's all good. Cheers to MattyC for that place, i'll be sure to check em out for any future work like, new clutch, new cam, new manifold, new backbox, the list is endless lol

Seems the problems ive read are sorted,no need for me to offer up advice on how to fix them then, i will say this tho.If u get an oil additive make sure it wont ADVERSLY affect your engine tho, theyre are some additives which cant be used on zetec engines as they contain PTFE and PTFE is bad for the zetec, make sure none of the incredients arent bad for your BM lump

Aye, my baby is sitting in his workshop as we speak.
I'm waiting for 'the call' when he tells me exactly what he's had to order and replace.
