A TEENAGER had parts of his body cut off in an horrific torture ordeal inside a Merseyside house.

The 17-year-old victim is believed to have had parts of his ears, fingers and toes cut off in the attack in Bootle on Wednesday afternoon.

Three people – two men and a woman – were questioned on suspicion of attempted murder.

It is thought the victim was attacked at a house on King Avenue before the teen, who is local to the area, fled through an alleyway that runs from Marsh Avenue to Northfield Road.

Merseyside Police confirmed they were called to Northfield Road just before 1.30pm after a report a young man had suffered "extensive" injuries.

They refused to confirm the exact nature of those injuries but the ECHO understands the victim had several body parts sliced off.

A police spokesman said: "When officers arrived at the scene they found a 17-year-old local male who had been seriously assaulted and had suffered injuries to his head and body."

The victim was taken to Fazakerley Hospital but later discharged himself.

He has yet to give a statement to police.

An ambulance spokeswoman said: "The patient was transferred to Aintree casualty on stand-by and he had multiple stab wounds."

Just over an hour after police were called, detectives arrested two men, aged 33 and 47, along with a 44-year-old woman, on suspicion of attempted murder.

The alleyway was cordoned off on Wednesday while police carried out door-to-door enquiries.

A Bootle resident, who would not be named, said: "A police officer said he’d had his fingers toes and his ears cut off.

"It’s just mad. It’s unbelievable that this kind of thing has happened."

The three people arrested were taken to a police station and questioned by detectives before being released on police bail pending further enquiries.

A police spokesman added: "The investigation is still in its early stages and at this time the motive for the attack is unknown, although it is believed to be targeted."

Any witnesses or anyone with information should call Sefton CID on 0151 777 3164 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
