A Small Cinema, is a unique short film event borne out of a fascination and desire to recreate the classic cinematic experience.

Join us for a special outdoor film event beneath the iconic Chinese Arch in the heart of Chinatown.

Re-Dock and ANDfest join together to screen the Hong Kong classic Zu Warriors From the Magic Mountain (新蜀山剑侠).(PG)

The film follows Chinese soldiers in an ancient civil war who get caught up in a fantastical quest to save the universe. Their quest unfolds with pioneering visual effects and lightening fast action sequences.

We are really delighted to confirm this feature as it had topped our shortlist. It was also fondly remembered by many of the people we approached throughout our research.

Re-Dock and Abandon Normal Devices Festival join together to screen a Hong Kong Classic in the heart of Chinatown. A night where the different cultures of Liverpool will congregate together in a shared cinema experience under the famous Chinese arch.

Witness a true supernatural gem by Hong Kong filmmaker Tsui Hark. We’ll also be showing a special selection of shorts by local and international film makers and sharing memories of cinema, collected from the people of Chinatown
