How much is a new toner?

Just trying to establish if it's worth it.

about £20 I think online but Ive still got the drum so if you take it to somewhere like cartridge world on woodchurch road im sure it will be much cheaper than that for them to refill it for you

Laser's ftw to be honest; I swear by my trusty Brother, 20 pages a minute, crystal clear black prints every time, thousands of pages without running out, and never fails to take the paper correctly or sends out two pages at a time like crappy inkjets. Large paper trays mean you don't have to keep refilling either. I just hammer out the prints on mine and toners (and drums) last way longer than stated capacities.

If printing text or graphics, an inkjet can never compare to a laser. I only use my inkjet for photos now, and it's a high-end job. This is a bargain for £15!

Alex, you can get the toners for around £20 - £25 for this model, or you could always just buy a refill kit for £8 - £15 and its not that difficult to refil yourself (think these may need resetting or rechipping, not familiar with Samsung, but the kits do include the ability to do this).

smile

Chris, you're over your limit on PM's - if you'll take £15 for it then I'll pick it up.

Chris, if I'm buying this for £15 and Lau is having your Sky link for £10, and I'm buying her compressor for £20, I'll come to yours and sort out the money then head over to hers...

Can't pm you so quick message here if you're going the refill route:

Reset ML 1640

This link will show you how to reset the printer to zero as it stops after about 2100 pages, if it doesn't work there is another way round it and I do have some software that I use on our Samsung mono when we refil it.

Good little printer (I've had a few of them) and ideal for light office or home use.
