I have a couple of pictures of a street party in Arkle road, north end. I remember the street party myself. Not sure wether it was for a particular reason. I'm 30 myself and remember it. Also have a photo of the entry behind laird street, st James church end my grandad painted union jack's on the wall in the entry, think it must have been about 1951 will put em up soon.

we had 3 street parties in Rodney street,one for the Queen's jubilee,onefor Charles & Di & one for VE day. Id moved out for the last two but my mum & dad still live there.They were good parties but no ones bothering this year.

Festival of Britain photograph taken in May 1951. This photo was taken in the entry behind Laird Street behind 365 Laird Street where my nan and grandad lived. My grandad painted the union jack's on the entry wall.


I remember playing in the entry in the 80's and there was one guy who had a black cab parked in the entry. My nan and grandad knew him but I forget his name.
