Do you know your emails from your web pages?

Introducing Wallasey's UK Online Centre - Free courses & General help with all computer/internet problems

UK Online Centre is offering free Myguide courses in a range of different subjects.

What is MyGuide?

MyGuide is a free, easy to use course that will help you get started using computers and the internet.
MyGuide includes five short modules. They show you how to use a mouse and keyboard, how to email, and how to search for information and stay safe online. With MyGuide you can learn and practise your new skills and start enjoying all the fantastic things the internet has to offer. You should register now, or find a local centre where staff can help you get started.

What's MyGuide all about?

MyGuide is a great way for you to get started online.

Whether you want to help your children with their homework, use a computer to keep in touch with family or friends or save time and money online - MyGuide can help you get the skills and confidence you need.

• MyGuide gives you the chance to learn new skills, and gives you a place to practise them.

• If you need help and support, you can get that too - from VCA Wirral Uk Online Centre

And once you've got the hang of MyGuide you could learn even more - you'll also find over 25 additional free courses to help you discover all the great things you can do online at http://www.myguide.gov.uk - the website that offers MyGuide.

What will I learn?

There are five short modules to get you started.

• You can get to grips with the keyboard, learning the functions of different keys and practising typing.

• Once you've mastered the keyboard you can follow simple step-by-step instructions to learn how to use a computer mouse.

• You will learn how to send and receive emails, how to use an address book and how to store emails in folders. You'll get a free email address when you register so you can get started straight away.

• We've got a whole course on internet safety - so no matter what you're learning or practising, this module will help you stay safe and secure online.

You'll learn how to search the internet and find websites that can help you save time, money and hassle!

If you would be interested in getting to grips with Computers & The internet, Then please do not hesitate to drop in or visit us online via http://www.vcawirral.org.uk or give us a call on 0151 203-2111

How ironic, that a course teaching people to use a computer keyboard and access the internet, is being advertised online!!

And there are many people who can use facebook who don't understand the shift button, and who can't use certain functions on the keyboard. And it's not only about using the internet it's about internet safety and using the internet for search engines and the like.

Is this restricted to Bills PC's, or is it suitable for the Penguin and the fruity coat?

The myguide courses that are run are effective and useful for people of all ages.

They'll teach you what you need to know to use a computer properly and safely and at the end of every module you'll recieve a certificate to show your achievements, and it's all done in a friendly relaxed environment, with helpful volunteers to support you every step of the way.

It's mainly set around Bill based software but it's fairly basic stuff.

There's also a UK Online centre in Birkenhead.

Yeah there are still many people in western world that still don't get the basic things related with computers and internet. Probably govt. is doing not enough over this issue.

The Government (and this is both parties) have set up training schemes, offer courses, offer assistance in buying computers and even gave them away to needy families with school age children. They have legislated on broadband access and ensured that most communities have access to the internet either at home or through libraries.

The Government is meant to do that, govern, not spoon-feed us from birth until death.

My windows are dirty, mainly because I can't be bothered cleaning them, but it's infringing on my human right to look out of my windows.... we should have government paid window cleaners.... oh and my shower plughole needs cleaning whilst their at it..

Sometimes we just have to do things for ourselves, stop talking, stop moaning about how it doesn't get done, and do it ourselves.

The alleyway behind one of the shops is always getting rubbish left there, and often it's by people who live nearby too lazy to dispose of it themselves. If I'm going near the tip with stuff I just throw it in, if it's a few bags I'll just shove it in with our waste bin when it's collected (the amount B&M overcharge us for taking the rubbish the bin is going to be FULL), and if more people just did the little things the place would look better and maybe people would stop dumping and take some pride in the area, themselves, and their lives.

Well that went off on one, not quite sure how I got there, but you know what I mean (nothing personal intended)
