my g.gran & granddad who came from warwickshire lived in brook st for a while,their next stop was new ferry were they eventually settled, is the picture of brook st? does anyone have any pics of brook st?

The Morpeth buildings were definitly in Wood St, Ducko just got the title wrong, looking at the photo, Brook St was the next street along to the left. The houses you see on the left of the photo shared the entry with the houses in Brook St

What approx year would this be? Is this the part of wood street that's still there?

The photo is the part of Wood st that was the other side of Watson St, from the part of Wood st thats there now, Morpeth buildings backed on to Irving Little, the paint and paper place in Cleveland St, The shop is still there but probably under a different name. Not sure when the photo was taken, it was still like that in 1957, i think they came down , not long after.

Phil, you can see the Paint shop on the maps there, On the 54 map, its in front of the S in Cleveland Street
