To be honest, just get him to go out to places he would LIKE to work, even if they are not advseritising, get some cheap little cards made on one of those machines and get him to drop his number into places. The fact that he has bothered will keep him in peoples minds, and then when they do need someone they will have his details handy.

Never mind computers, the best thing he could do for himself is try and get a job where he can get stuck in and entails a bit of activity. There's time enough for the desk stuff when he leaves school and it will also give him a bit of an idea of what it is like to graft a bit and it might spur him on to try better at his studies. Just an idea.

I would imagine that the most likely area to find a "saturday" job would be retail as they only require extra staff on saturdays / sundays when they are more busy than in the week.
