Have you got a car? Pant yr Ochain, just the other side of Chester. It is FABULOUS. I have been to many, many places over the years and this place is great. The people make you feel so welcome. Its even better in the winter when the big fires are going. I never want to leave the place. Google it and have a look, the pictures don't really do it justice though. Very, very nice place to go and eat. You have to book or go very early as it gets really busy sometimes.

Otherwise the Grove House hotel in Grove Road opposite the Nelson Pub has been good recently.

Yes I have got a car, that place looks lovely, I wouldn't mind going there in winter with the log fires! Thanks for that!

Pant-yr-Ochain is part of the Brunning & Price chain. I've eaten at several & they have all been excellent. My favourite is probably the Corn Mill at Llangollen.

I didn't know that and I am surprised. The people there were so nice and all focused on the customers and it had a real family feel. All credit to the staff then!

That's what's great about Brunning & Price; they give the managers free rein to run the place as they think best, no central control. I suppose if a place wasn't up to scratch, something would be done.
