Anyone who lets them lanterns go during this dry weather should be locked up. They'll cause fires no problem, why do we always import the shoit stuff.

Without being a "Killjoy", these are a problem when they land in the fields. Cows, not being the brightest of animals, sometimes munch them and the fine bits of wire/bamboo in them makes for mega vets bills. Sometimes the beast has to go to the Fray Bentos factory earlier than intended !

Local farmers are not really gripped by these lanterns.

They burn out in mid air - quite high up, so when they land they are well out and cant start a fire.

Not sure if they can go that far, think they only burn for about 10 mins, though I guess it depends how much of a breeze there is to carry them think

we saw loads of these when we were in Rhyl just floating up and up until you couldn't see them anymore. Then we saw one yesterday and it just landed on the floor like five feet away tease
