The chopping down bit is usually easy, albeit sometimes time consuming.

Getting rid of the bits and the stump are the difficult parts

It's in bromborough, not got a pic I'm afraid. It's a birch tree, and I just want it cutting down to about 10 ft, want to keep the base to carve.

Be worthwhile checking with the council that it is not subject to a tree preservation order. If it is there will be a fine for cutting it down without permission.

find one of the groups who are looking for people to plant a young tree, then cut your own tree down, that way all the tree huggers will have to stop moaning
