Just driven past and seen a number of ambulances. A black Corsa had driven off the road and gone straight down the embankment. Not sure what happened. Car was still on wheel and lightly damaged, but roof was being removed to remove driver. He seemed 'OK'. Two BMW's had crashed further up the road because of rubber necking.

Just taken a look out my window (the section between J1 and J2) and it all looks to be flowing smoothly and fast in both directions, so good news in that respect at least.

ahh that will explain the traffic build up today, my office over looked the motorway by total fitness, hope they are alright, it's a bad roundabout, people always cut lanes and slip road from asda people use the m53 lane and the cut on to the middle lane so they don't have to stop.

Man cut free from car

Woodchurch Road, Prenton
A passenger was cut free from a car by firefighters and paramedics after a RTC in Prenton today.
The man was trapped in the car after it left the roadway and went down an embankment.
The 50-year-old man was taken to Arrowe Park Hospital by ambulance suffering neck and whiplash injuries.
A male passenger, aged 55, from the other vehicle was also taken to Arrowe Park Hospital suffering concussion and a cut to the head.
Fire crews from Birkenhead, Upton and Croxteth attended the scene on Woodchurch Road, Prenton. The fire service was called just before 2:30pm.
