Celebrations will take place on Sunday 21 February at Great George Street and Great George Square. China's cultural heritage is alive and well all year round in Liverpool, which is home to one of the oldest Chinese communities in Europe. February sees these traditions take to the streets for all to enjoy as the city says goodbye to the Year of the Ox and welcomes the Year of the Tiger. (11am-4pm) Map Source

Yeah, I'm thinking I might take the kids over to Liverpool for a bit of culture.

That was superb. Our kid watched them practising by the big Cammell Lairds shed, from his window. Couldn't figure out what it was all about at first but when it became clear and the deed was done, brilliant!
Of course the joke was that because it was city of culture they put your car up on books instead of bricks. I had to take loads of stick for that over here.

Funnily enough our kid lives down the bottom of that road where the pics of the shed were taken from. 6 degrees of seperation.

21st ? Err that is a bit odd because Chinese Spring Festival (New Year as we call it) is actually on 14th February.
14th is a Sunday as is 21st so why hold it a week late? UNLESS it is because it will clash with Valentines day so folk will not know whether to celebrate with their beloveds or with their families
