Found a abandoned tree last year- a baby. Planted it and was made up when it budded and then 'leaved'. Its defo grown and is now 51'' Today i noticed that there are small red balls welded to the leaves?? Wtf??? Thanks
Sounds like something I had on strawberry plants last year - can't remember what it was called but I had to kill it off with a pesticide.
But depends on a few things - are the red balls on the top or under the leaves etc. Can you upload a photo of the plant and close up of the red balls? If the plant can be identyfied then its a start.
while you try and get your pics uploaded, does it look like this:
Galls on leaves These red Pustule galls found on Field maple are also caused by mites Artacris cephalonea, and are found on the upper side of the leaf.
Never seen a sycamore tree without some of them, as long as the leaves stay green it will survive.
Don't know if these mites climb up the trunk, on some trees you put an oil soaked cloth round the trunk to stop the climbers (and cut back foliage touching other ground based objects - fences, other trees etc).
