Delayed drivers threaten workers
Frustrated motorists suffering delays and detours on a road being resurfaced have verbally threatened workers, with one man saying he would shoot them.
Workmen resurfacing the A458 at Llanerfyl, Powys, told police that one motorist said he would use an air rifle to shoot them.
They said drivers had also threatened to throw bricks at them.
Dyfed Powys Police at Welshpool said they had been asked for their assistance and were investigating.
Officers confirmed that the workers had received threats and verbal abuse.
Residents in the Llanerfyl area say they have been left stranded by closure of the road and have been unable to leave their homes or forced to make long detours.
The road workers complained to Powys council although the resurfacing is being carried out for the Welsh Assembly Government. THE BBC
