Woman rescued from cliff plunge

A woman was rescued by firefighters after she was found hanging precariously off cliffs at a beach.

Crews were called to the top car park at Southerndown in the Vale of Glamorgan at 1826 BST on Wednesday.

The woman was around 15 to 20ft (4.5 to 6m) over the edge, hanging on with a sheer drop below her, South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said.

The firefighters tied a rope around her before one managed to grab hold of her to pull her back up.
