Pagani’s Zonda will face its final curtain call in style, with a limited run of 10 Zonda ‘R’ versions destined to be produced next year.
The Zonda is slated to be replaced by an all-new model in 2010, which will be built at an all-new factory in Modena.
To keep the pot boiling next year Pagani plans to build the fabulous race-orientated Zonda R which, according to latest reports from Italy, will feature a 750bhp version of the AMG Mercedes 6.0 litre V12, instead of the 7.3 litre unit in the ‘regular’ model.
Apparently the Zonda R will share only 10 per cent of its chassis and drivetrain components with the Zonda F, and features slightly longer bodywork with extended aero parts.
Reports say 5 road cars and 5 track versions will be built next year, with a debut likely at the Geneva motor show in March. The company has just posted these new images
