If it's the one I think you are on about... it's been there for fookin weeks now, actually probably a couple of months now, and the council know about it because they had a sign up at one point saying damaged road ahead!!!
The council/government don't give a shit about the motorist... as Sanchez said in the other thread, they keep making more and more fuel tax, yet they are allowed to get away with this shit!!!!!
as mentioned, get some pictures before they fix it or get some white lines around it; once the white lines are around it then you cant claim.
they will also argue that they cant be reasonably expected to fix every pot hole as they cant be everywhere at the same time.
i went down this route, you need to ask to see their inspection records for the last 5 years (i think) for that road, and if there has been a sign up there before then that is grounds for claiming their negligence.
its difficult to get compo out of the council - i would also go and get the buckled/damaged alloy checked out by an independent garage and a damage report done.
