2 things.

Is it a brand new machine?
And what is the name of the update that failes.

I had a resent issue with a new dell laptop on vista basic
in the end we had to do a factory restore.

More info about the problems and the machine wink

When you do your updates select custom (vista)
Forget mcaffeeee for now.

And see what if anything is in the list.

Or visit microsoft updates and run it from there,
this way you will see what has been updated and which if
any failed and the KB number which is important.

If its narrowed down to something like Net*****SP2
its the issues i had.

Its vista or the image your dell came with the wrong
updates.

Is it a Christmas DELL or older ?
