I'm pretty sure all the Astras have been made at Ellesmere Port, do they just assemble them, or is there a pressing machine there as well?
If not they'll have to to change the sign to 'Home of (some of) the Astra(s)'

I met some bloke who worked there in the nineties, and more than likely put my car together!!

They do everything in the E.port plant... from the press shop to slat (car final)

From wot i remember tho, they did the astra, astra van, vectra at the same time

i left about 2 months ago so i dunno if much has changed in there, but i did hear about them doing the new astra estate

I like the Astra's. I liked the mk4 more but I do like these

I prefere a golf gti german build quality is so much better in my oppinion. Vw just see loads and loads of relible motoring.

They are making the Astra VXR in germany somewhere...

I was on a course at vauxhall recently and got the factory tour and was obviously asking where the vxr's where etc...but they said theyre being made in antwerp or somewhere. They only make the standard bodies on cars on the lines then they go into the bodyshop to have styling parts fitted if they are SRIs etc.

Yeah, in europe there are 5 Vauxhall plants of which only 3 will be building the new astra.. when i was working there, they were in 3rd position, there'll never get 2nd or 1st coz them other plants are much cheaper to run and the wage is very very low compared to the £10p/h i was gettin while in E.port.

yeah they are cool, i used to work right next to the windscreens machine, there at the top of LEG 3 were as i used to work at the top of LEG 1(Hood release, side Airbags, rear lights) and also in the middle of LEG 4 (rear window wiper motor, rear wiper, interior on the insde boot,ABS brackets)

Am dead happy with me new 2.2 mk4 astra, but i want a VXR SOOOOOOOO BAD!!!!! defo a VXR or a 888 coupe turbo next CAR!! vauxhall nut all the way!

i seen a mad vauxhaul today it was bigger than the astra and had vxr written on the back, it looked realy sporty think it began with an letter M. Any ideas???

yeah that the one really nice car very different proberly not for long give them a year

went passed a baby blue VXR this morning on me way to college(day release) omg i want one!!!

My Sri Vectra has been tinkered with by 888. I've upset a few exclusive car owners as a result!!!



I had a look over one in lookers Ellesmere Port....WOW! VX had a VXR day at Olton Park recently where you could drive the range inc the VXR8. I missed out cause it booked up so quick but from the piccies I've seen it was a cracking day!



If you see any VX in Arden blue its a VXR.

or a GSI, i.e Astra mk4 GSI and Zafira mk1 GSI
