I heard this as a passing comment on a news report,
but next month the legal age limit to buy ciggies
is going up to 18 years.

Another reason for me to pack in with my boyish good looks
i would find it difficult to buy them lol

Im not sure if this is true? Surely they would have to give people some sort of notice?

You sure they are not just voting on the law next month with the prospect of introducing it at a later time?

think

Weird, I thought they would have made it more known. If it does come in, shop keepers will still be serving 16 year olds and 16 years will still be buying fags lol, everyone will be breaking the law cos no bugger knows but we lmao!

The government is to raise the legal minimum age at which tobacco can be bought in England and Wales from 16 to 18 years from October.

The move, announced by Public Health Minister Caroline Flint, will follow the introduction of a ban on smoking in public and work places later this year.

The ban comes into place in Wales in April and England three months later.

About 9% of 11 to 15-year-olds smoke and ministers hope the move will reduce this figure.

i'm not a smoker, but am confused bout the governments stance on the habit. The government is clamping down on smokers so much now, yet earns so much in tax from smokers... so if they try to stop people smoking, the will lose revenue will they not ? therefore they will have to recoup that lost money, probably by putting taxes up for everyone else... so smoking/smokers are good for something, keeping other taxes down...

mark..... boyish looks ? r u sure they dont serve u cos u cant see over the counter.... ? raftl

Hence why the petrol is going up 2p per litre soon, it would probably have been a 1p rise, but they are losing so much revenue from quitting smokers its becoming too much.

They should legalise "social drugs", its not doing any good them being illegal, if people want them they can get them and they could make a killing on the tax.

Lol.

my sentiments exactly, legalise Cannabis and prostitution (of both I dont use) tax the hell out of them, put illegal dealers out of business, and lower tax on petrol.
