A Merseyside train operator has launched a crackdown on anti-social behaviour in a bid to make journeys for more pleasant for passengers.
Merseyrail is playing recorded messages and flashing up warnings on digital screens in trains.
Guards are also being fitted with mini head cameras to catch offenders.
Merseyrail says it plans to take out private prosecutions after guards recorded more than 300 bylaw offences since February.
Offences including smoking, putting feet and shoes on seats and even singing too loudly.
Patrick Verwer, Managing Director of Merseyrail, said: "It may seem like a minor offence but putting feet on seats and smoking on trains is actually very annoying for a lot of passengers." Good on them, its about time these muppets had to pay for their selfish behaviour. It things like this that will gradually (albeit very slowly) remove ASB from our train services and make them a more pleasent and safer place to be (although to be honest we are quite lucky as it is, they arnt very bad at all). Trains have got a lot better over the years.
There are a lot of transport police, cleaners and train staff nowadays.
They never used to have cleaners, never used to see transport police and ticket collectors were very rare, so it was always easy to bunk the train.
The worst problem still is the problem with drunks and people drinking on the trains. This is from my own experience from using trains over the past few months and a lot have had open cans poured away by transport police.
It's good that they are cracking down on ASB. Makes trains feel a lot cleaner and safer. There are fewer kids on the trains at night and less damage to them.
