Exactly, that's why he wants it for spam filtering, and his son is less experienced.
don't forget the set up disc sets this up for you in outlook.

He doesn't want a Hot mail Account !
He wants what was promised to him upon signing up, that's all.

I think in all the calls ive made on bealf of my uncle 98% of the time was UK speaking. And only twice was there an Indian
at the other end that spoke great English.

Problem is that when there is a problem its pushed to upper management, and they don't get back to you.

Support has no Direct connection to them,
its like any communications are only by e-mail from support to the next level. Trust me that is frustrating.

But if you get the service and its working, it is and seems to be a quality service. smile

As far as I know there is no spam filtering on Sky's email service... wink

Either way it will never beat hotmail/msn spam filtering, they are industry leading.

Not sure what the big problem is with hotmail to be honest, its free, it works, its flexible (its not tied down to which ISP you use) and it has the best anti-spam filtering there is, period.

I know Sky are promising email services with the connection, but I am just pointing out the fact that whether they work or not, there is plenty of much much better alternatives out there anyway.

I have got it anyway. There is an 8 day cooling off period, it is is rubbish, i am going to cancel it.

The sales guy was really helpful and seemed quite knowledgeable. I had a good talk to him about the bad reviews they have got and all my get out clauses. I even asked how often they routed the calls to India and apparently it is only at night due to the low unemployment in scotland.

Yes, it will be good to see how yours goes too matey. The more user opinions and feedback the better. Good luck with it. It should be even more interesting now, as when I got mine activated, it seems it was just before the mass customer sign ups, so they are having to handle a LOT more activations then they did when I got mine, will be interesting to see how they cope.

Is this a full new Sky Digital television and Broadbnad install? Im a tad confused by them coming to install it if its only broadband, as that costs £50 unless your on the Max service.

You cant get Sky Broadband on its own Mark... the broadband being so cheap (in the case of the Base product "free"), is another way to attract new digital telvision customers.

With over 8million digital tv customers, Sky are finding it hard to get new ones, with the advent of Sky Broadband, one of the targets is to break the 10 million tv customer barrier.

It will then open the way for IPTV services and other future uses of the network.

smile

For Broadband on its own, Sky offer the UK Online service.

I am a new customer, i am taking the 6 packages for £21 a month and the 8mb broadband for £5 and the free weekends on the phone.

They are coming to install the TV stuff on sunday. I will get the router and the install dates through the post soon. Apparently i can use my own router aswell smile

You can possibly use your own router yes, if it can interact with the Sky router. The Sky Broadband router incorporates a ADSL2+ modem and in the terms of the contract your not allowed to use any other modem. I suppose a lot of it is to help with Sky customer support, so everyone is using the same modem, which cuts down problems when giving out technical support.

Had my TV installed last week.

Sky have cancelled my broadband with Tiscali, i can see the 8mb speed on my draytek router, but am unable to connect. I have been 2 days without any internet.

Phoned last night to try and see where my stuff was, spoke to some indian guy that was obviously reading from a script. No use at all.

Spoke to a scottish guy this morning who was suprised i didn't have correspondance or my equipment. Hopefully today or tomoz.
