Ill try the auctions and look by that pub. Im still checking out insurance on the GTI because quotes so far have been around £165 a month where as the Si is costing on £77 a month with very similar spec.
My mate has recently got an escort GTI and he is only 19 but pays less than £100 a month for it. Tried a quote on his exact car and cheapest i got was £1800 without telling them i have pass plus...but i dont think it makes much difference.
I would get that focus in the for sale but price is a bit too high for me on a T reg with higher mileage than my escort has (R reg). But it is a stunning focus and i would have that if i wasnt looking for something completely standard.
I assume you mean Karls Blue 1.8 Zetec? Nicest focus ive seen to be honest with you.

I believe the SI and GTI are exactly the same car?
Paying all that extra for a badge?

Differences include
Half leather interior ABS as standard (I don thave it) Sideskirts and rear spats
GTI comes with either air con or a SR, i have a SR in the Si.
Hardly any differences but i can't be ***** to sell my mods and then buy the GTI styling / interior. Plus don't want to modify it, even the exhaust really.
Actually after typing this it probably would be easier and cheaper to sell some mods and go for GTI styling, but how easy is it to have my exhaust swapped over for a standard one?
My mate just got a GTI and it has practically a new exhaust system, about a month old. Is it easy to swap them from the cat back for each other? Obviously id want cash from him aswell...

The only hard part is finding genuine GTI styling without buying it totally brand new from ford
