There are much better quality clutches on the after-market than what ford will supply you with, And at a much more competitave price also. The back street garage you took your car to would have probably fitted just a clutch plate or cover and even possibly a used one at that. (Its common practice with clutch/gearbox or back street garages) Lets face it, your not going to remove the gearbox to check they have fitted a new one are you, Its not like getting a tyre fitted where you can obviously see what has been replaced.
Dazza, A.D.L. Are one of the market leaders for quality aftermarket parts but i am not sure if they will make a clutch for yours as they tend to specialise in japanease cars allot.</b>
