I have a bodykit in mind now finally after trawling the entire web for Galant kits, I have also had a few quotes for fitting. Dont get me wrong im not saying i'm not willing to pay for someone to fit it but i need to know if I fitted it myself would it be possible?

What is the relative hardness of fitting a bodykit, I have lots of time on my hands so I wouldn't rush it but i hear fibre-glass kits (mine included) can be hard to adjust etc.

I take it it's not as simple as removing the back/front bumper and replacing it with the new one?!

help!!

A bodykit bought your car wont need any filler at all. The only probs you may have is if its a good fit, you may have to re-drill the holes so they line up and can be attached to the car properly. Also the kit may not have threads (So a nut can go on) - You'll need to buy some studrod with the correct thread on, then screw this into the new bumper.

Also Scoop, dont 'name and shame' bodyshops of any sort - I thought you knew better than this so I have edited your post. Dont do it again

personally mate i wud take it to a bodyshop to get it fitted unless u are extremely confident at doin it urself as as dazza has mentioned alot of kits these days are moulds or moulds (ie dnt fit exactly right) so there for it can b more hassle then its worth

How do you mount a bumper for example to the body if it has no 'holes' to mount it to.
I bought an ultra-sh*t quality bodykit years ago and it was just a shell.
I've got a splitter I don't really want, but I can't sell it, so might have a go at putting it on.
How does a bodyshop 'stick' it over the edge of the bumper??

if i understand ur question correctly miek, use self tappers to put the splitter onto the bottom of the bumper, simple as,if u want it to stay on forever,u cud slap some tigerseal on it aswell

Stationmiek, from what I understand you have a shell of a bumper, you'll need a base to put it on - Something like your original bumper (or a scrap one). If you can attach the shell it will fit but I expect you'll neet to cut bits off and pad other bits out

Am sure you'll have fun

^ I've seen their 'show car', which is covered in vinyl. Nuff said!

I wouldn't go near fibre glass again, but I've got a splitter that I wanted to sell, but no-one really wants it, so I might put it on. Self-tapping screws do you mean? I'd put the tiger stuff on as well.
