Right, been told by the webmaster (how can I argue) to put something down about my next project:
Well, I had an EK Coupe VTi, but had an "incident" with a deer and a tree...so after my head gasket went in my 309 GTi I have decided to go for something mental...
A turbo'd or supercharged Civic Coupe is on the cards. With all new internals etc, I will be looking for at least 350bhp out of it, now I just need to find a project car and an engine for the right price....as I import parts for Jap cars anyway I can get the parts at the right prices anyway!
I will keep you informed as to what is going on..i've not made decisions as to what engine to go for yet or whether to go for a turbo or for a supercharger...hmmmm decisions. Also any advice helps!!

Daz - with that power I'll be looking for low 12's at the most, on a good day Right, well, basically as the compression ratio is high on a VTEC, i am going to have to lower that - as I'm doing that i may as well go for new pistons and rods, but the crank on any B-Series engine is good for about 800bhp! I am looking after that, at either a Vortech Supercharger and an Intercooler instead of their chargecooler kit, or a hybrid T4/T5 turbo. Obviously there is loads of other stuff to do - fuel rail, injectors, engine managament (mmmm Motech, Anti-Lag!!), valve springs, retainers etc and some nice cams. I have missed laods out of that too! Ronan

Too much work, the tranny tunnel is too small. I know of a couple of FWD S2K powered Civics in the US tho. The thing is tho, is that the engines I want fit straight in, only with modified rear engine mounts. I am looking at either the 1600 VTEC, the 1800 VTEC or a 2.0 VTEC Hybrid from a CR-V - the 2.0 block, with a 1600, or 1800 Teggy Type-R head on it. More torque mmmm!
I like the supercharger kit I am looking at - on a standard 158bhp Civic, they have got 284.7bhp on the rollers!! Standard internals can take nearly 300bhp...
BTW, whose is the red EK on here with the Mugen front bunper? It's quite tasty.

i understood upto this point and then there was far to much Honda tech-talk for me my main language is Ford Originally posted by Ronan: 1600 VTEC, the 1800 VTEC or a 2.0 VTEC Hybrid from a CR-V - the 2.0 block, with a 1600, or 1800 Teggy Type-R head on it. Yeah, I would like to supercharge it, the kit is cheap but I want more than 350bhp! You can just wind up the boost on it but the turbo option is cheaper for more power.
It's nice, I walked past it as he was queing to get on the strip, turned my head at least. What engine is in it?
haha - the Honda tech-talk - well basically, I just want the bottom end of a CRV engine as they are more torquey, but put on the head from an Integra Type R or a standard VTi. Then slap a supercharger or a turbo on the *****! Lol

im sure i seen+heard a civic turbo go past at USC an it sounded gorgeous when the dump valve was doing its "PSSHHTTTT" noise, love that noise but then again if you supercharge it, it wont make the "PSSHHTTTT" sound so people will think its a near standard engine therefore making it kinda stealthy when racing people who dont know what it is??.....if that makes sense

Yeah, except for the whine! Also, you can get dump valves for superchargers anyway

This sounds awesome! I`d go for the supercharger, more reliable.
