Just watched the Cummings interview and what a f##king weasel.
Who does he, and these other 12 so called people think they are that they can chose who runs this country just because he (they) thinks Bojo is an idiot?

Is politics now so secret that the elected party and members are being run by a group of covert narcissists who think they know better than anyone else?

Thank fook he is gone because that man is unstable.

I am not sure that the UK government of either party really run the country. I believe the country is really run by the groups known as the Establishment. The Royal Family, the aristocracy and other big landowners, the lawmakers and probably others are the ones who have the real reins and power.

Most of what Cummings said in both the interview and testimony appears to be roughly true, he's obviously been readying to cover his back throughout.

He is arrogant and manipulative but that has been his career as a political organiser/campaigner/adviser. Like it or not people like that do get things moving and are necessary, even if it is straight out of Yes Minister/Prime Minister.

We would be a right mess without Cummings throughout Covid, the Government was going for herd immunity and Cummings effectively stopped that, now Cummings has gone the Government has again reverted to herd immunity despite not having reasonable preparations in place.

Boris needed Cummings, Cummings needed to do things other than follow Boris's gang of incompetents.

I don't like the bloke, I don't trust him but he is an interesting character and despite his protestations he has much more experience and expertise than he'd let you believe - look at his career history. His long term ideals do not match mine.

However wrong it might be, we were lucky Cummings was controlling Government over that period, there wasn't anyone else doing the obvious to protect life. It is questionable whether most of the situation was wrong, the Prime Minister can choose and appoint whoever he wants, he chose Cummings, the only difference is that Cummings had a higher public profile than most of his secretive predecessors.

The country is run by the media (albeit as a middle-man), they influence elections more than anyone else, they influence ministers - eventually the electorate might realise this. The system is at fault, not individuals but successive right wing Governments are extremely happy with the status quo and the system will not change until we either get a left wing Government or the people revolt.

The public need to realise that quality of life isn't governed by the size of their TV screen, there are far more important matters.

My current advice? Vote Green which is the only significant left wing party at the moment. Left wing is about socialism, if you don't believe in socialism then leave society and stop reaping its benefits while trying to destroy it. Every aspect of society is being ground down by successive right wing Governments.
