1950s map Oliver Place where I was born and lived until early 60s before it was demolished for the new market The houses were 2 up 2down kitchen only big enough for a gas stove and a cold water sink. Outside toilet only. No electricity , gas mantles only in downstairs rooms.
As an aside can anyone tell me why some house numbers are not included in the Wilmers 1916 street directory? (possibly no-one in to answer )
Hi my sister and I visited Flaybrick cemetery today, after taking with one of the friends of Flaybrick they are so helpful, . Their is indeed a headstone but only has Albert and Caroline, and there children on it, I can only conclude tha Caroline’s family purchased the headstone, in 1973. We can add a memorial vase to put Albert Sarah and baby Elsie on. Lovely cemetery
