Its still free in shopping areas.
There's a real danger that the left will drag Britain back to the 1970s, with secure well-paid jobs, ample housing, properly-funded NHS and social care, free tuition, student grants, final salary pensions, affordable rail fares and fabulous films and music. Council decided last night to restore parking charges with immediate effect.

Wirral Globe mentioned that although charges would be restored with immediate effect, it could take up to a few weeks to enact that - better start carrying some small change, I guess, as we've no idea exactly when it's going to happen!

Now they’ve got it back should imagine it will be implemented soon as, It won’t help the few shops left in Birkenhead, why pay parking when you can go elsewhere for free! Talking about loose change I’ve noticed quite a few car parks where you can only use your cards. I hate that so try and find elsewhere but guess it will be the norm soon so have to get used to it.
