Well i'm sure a lot of you have already had the latest bill dropped though the letter box over the last few days mine has gone up £200 this year on last, i know a lot of people are not happy with a rise in this or a rise in that. If you remember the budget and the promise of a rise in the Min wage starting in April 2019, was it something like 21 or 31 pence? since then we have had Gas going up, Electric up, water up, petrol up [ and down ] food prices going up each day, then to get a Council Tax rise to a lot of people that 21/31 pence pay rise is a joke! But the biggest joke was reading the letter that came with the Council Tax bill from Cllr.Phil Davis. according to him its going to be an exicting year for Wirral, Our Borough is now officially recognised as the region's Borough of Culture! Is it April the 1st already? And now i know what the Council has been spending money making cycle lanes every where, we are having the Tour Series in May and September, How wonderful more roads closed off? They have £8 Million to spend improving the roads thoughtout Wirral, sorry Phil if you added two noughs to this figure to make it £8 hundred million it still wouldn't be enough to fix our roads and pavements, and what happened to the £6 million the Goverment gave each Council for pot holes repairs?? Wonder if the roads where the cycling will run though get done first? Wirral Council you are a Joke and i do not understand the people of Wirral putting up with it each day

It's the City Region that's the problem IMO. Liverpool Metro Mayor, we were already told a couple of weeks ago we'd have to pay more towards him. Liverpool were the highest council tax in the county at one time,, not sure where it stands now, but they'll be getting as much out of uson Wirral as they can.
As you say, gas gone up, electricity gone up, now council tax, no doubt the water will too... so the Old Age Pension increase of approx £15 per month is a joke.
We are the suburb of Liverpool now, something Liverpool referred to back in 2001. Hence all the housing they need !! That's another issue.
.....and our Councillor voted once in September, twice in December, and once in January for developing Green Belt Land. The Councillor who left a meeting saying he had heard what we , as a community had said against it and would act in our best interests. Get them out.

An interesting analagy keef that someone just out riding their bike is the root cause of your unhappiness . Do you play football on a sunday how much does that pitch cost . Who pays for all the leisure infustructure. We all do did you see the giants ,,,waste of millions why bother giving it to a french company . Spend it on pot holes so you car can go faster in your car (world) etc etc etc

Pacef8, I work in three jobs, so have little or any time to enjoy leisure as i work 14 hour days, including the weekends, i have had 8 days off since Xmas, and no i don't own a car i ride a motorcycle and the roads are a bloody disgrace, [ have you been down passed Bidston tip latery, the road was resurfaced last year but every time it rains, its flooded, what a joke!} not a big fan of push bikes as the most of the riders are morons, the few that ride on the road i give my respect and allow them to ride it! As for football pitches, aren't these normally covered in dog poo!
Diggingdeep, You say you have 30% less funding than you did in 2010, so why do you waste tens of thousands on consultation fees to places down in London etc, we don't employ said same skilled people in the town hall? or local firms? thus keeping the money in our area, sorry but i would sack the lot of you and start again, the whole Council is a joke and most of us have had enough!

Honestly, in my opinion, this tax bill is nonsense. So far, I haven't seen much use of that money, as it should have. I know a lot of people whose low incomes did not allow them to pay this tax. However, not long ago, I found here [link removed] that if you're on a low income, you may be eligible for a council tax reduction of up to 100%, which will be paid to you as a rebate. Each local authority has different criteria for who is qualified to claim council tax reduction. The rebate size depends on your income, savings, and whether you live alone or with other adults on the same property.
