The Government has paid Eurotunnel £33m of OUR money to avoid getting prosecuted.

The procurement process the Government used for the Brexit ferry contract fiasco was illegal and they are paying Eurotunnel shush money to stop them taking it to court.

There should be some prosecutions and sackings but the Government has bribed its way out.

Who else's money would they use ? Have to say £33 million doesn't amount to much on the grand scale of things these days.

Maybe the only benefit coming out of that, is the fact that Eurotunnel will now be obliged to provide a service after Brexit (if it ever happens)

Just another cock-up to add to the list . Sick of the lot of them.

They can't just hand the work to Eurotunnel either, it has to go at least to Euro-tender.

This is a completely illegal payment to Eurotunnel, it does not compensate for any loss, it is purely hush money, I can't see how a court would have awarded Eurotunnel a single penny.

Maybe they should tell Eurotunnel to get stuffed and use the aircraft. There ain;t much 'hush' about it now.

The ferry issue( no ships etc) wasn't really an issue, as there are companies that charter ships for various purposes , and there would be qualified Ex Merchant Naval Officers and Captains who would have no problem in loading and off loading cargoes, navigation etc.

It was not Eurotunnel's fault, it is the illegal actions of the Government that were at fault. Paying Eurotunnel this money hasn't resolved anything, in fact it has laid the Government open to more accusations of inappropriate procurement.

Eurotunnel closed their cross channel ferry service in 2015. Would it not be assumed that they would not be operating that service any longer ?

quote:
It argued that unlike Seaborne, it has actually run a cross-Channel ferry service (MyFerryLink, which closed in 2015) and should have been approached.

To say it's for the Vital Medicines is another fabrication and tailor made journalistic spin on behalf of the Remainers. How much tonnage on Vital Medicines would be needed and from where ? One container hold approx. 25 -30 tons, medium size vessel carries approx 1000 containers. = 25,000 tons of pills on one crossing ?

They're all corrupt, ALL and that includes the other little shit, squeaky clean and shiny Ummuna. Leading this new pathetic group of MP's who continue to play the childish games that street- wise kids played in the playground 50/60 yrs ago . It would seem, he is now 'DEMANDING. a second referendum !

Friday 2 Dec 2016....... raftl........ Chuka Umunna today urged Remain campaigners to abandon calls for a second referendum or risk being seen as a metropolitan elite “who think they know best”.

Is everyone 'stockpiling' that's another point of lunacy ? All the time, we wait and wait for Mrs May to undo the rotten deal she signed... . which is not about to happen.. So despite her continued message that we SHALL leave on 29th March 2019... it looks like another eye wash with an excuse to make it appear an 'unfortunate ' instead of a 'prior' arrangement.

We are raped daily as taxpayers and will always be. Both partys with their freemason private business mates have asset stripped the uk for 40 plus yrs. From the 12 million excess on the tunnels given to merseytravel not the tunnel users, big companies goin under like rover yrs ago with a 400 million hole yet blair & his cronies takin 12 million in wages out of them.
The modern version is carrillion or philip greens piliging.
The EU is no different, 185 billion taken off us over the years yet " we give it u back " mantra is dumbly believed . We owe them NOTHING.
170000 regulations / 100000 bank accounts to pay people off etc.
The IMF is like modern mafia " take the euro / destroy the countrys money & society , then we take your assets to be " saved " '
Ireland italy greece have been doomed for years.
We dont need the EU we never did. They make us think we do.
As david noakes said in 2010 " its an unelected two pier corrupt polit bureau "
The uk public are so dumbed down fed up confused ,they want us to be ......" just accept our full take over & consolidation " its their master plan. Always has been.
