Thanks to everyone who has posted but, Venice, I think you're right.
I did come across a hotmail email address but haven't had a reply......could be that hotmail sees me as spam!!
Looking on Facebook I've actually come across someone that was also in our class at St Werburghs (years 1956 - 1962 - gosh I'm old!!) so I may contact him and see if he is still in touch with my lost friend....... never say never
