Signed.

This is the fourth zoo I know of to have been abandoned, with animals starving to death. There were the other 3 in Gaza, Iraq and Syria, just recently.

It's a pitiful world we live in.

They do have a lot of petitioners , so maybe something will be resolved. The trouble is, if they can't feed them, what can they do with them. Unable to release them, it must be a case of waiting for all the legalities to be overcome before any move can be put in place. A world ban on zoos might be the answer ?

Nothing to do on a Saturday morning ?

You can catch the updates as it happens on 6 rescued bile farm bears that are now in the process of being transported 1,200 kms., to their rescue centre.

They left yesterday (Friday) early morning and stopped overnight . They are heading for their next stop over tonight. The journey will take 4 days and they are worried about a couple of the bears. One being blind(they think) and another being very nervous. Who wouldn't be after 10 years in a cage small enough not to be able to stretch out in. Surrounded by banana leaves and not being able to eat them ,and bile extracted on a daily basis in a painful process ?
BUT, they are away from that now, and looking forward to their best Christmas ever.

Hai Chan, Thai Van and Thai Giang have gone outside for the first time. The first two pics are of Hai Chan. She's managing without her two front paws. Maybe she's suddenly aware that there's a blue sky above us.

It's a 'feel good' factor Happy Christmas to them.

Four Paws International.
UPDATE ON HAI CHAN AND HER FRIENDS!

We are beyond happy to announce that today the three former "bile bears" Hai Chan, Thai Van and Thai Giang were successfully released into their large outdoor enclosures. After several weeks in quarantine and within temporary indoor enclosures, it was wonderful to watch them walk into a natural and species-appropriate enclosure for the very first time in their lives.

Until now, they have never experienced trees, soil, grass or water in a pond, as their “home” consisted of iron bars and concrete floor for so many years.

At the moment, all three bears are only brave enough to stay outside for very short periods of time. But we are confident that Hai Chan, Thai Van and Thai Giang will all soon feel ready to explore and appreciate their species-appropriate home.

With Michael Gove desperate for any brownie points he can get, there's a good chance England might follow. He's already started the mantra that the conservatives are the animal welfare party.

It has been on the agenda in England for a number of years. Cameron was the first to have it in his manifesto. Unfortunately, it has been blocked on various occasions by only 3 MP's. Then it has to wait again until there is time to debate again. It's a farce ! The worst offender is Christopher Chope.. the man who wants to re-introduce the death penalty. Says a lot

Back again, after a long silence. That does not mean things have not been happening ,world wide. However, today I received my fix of the month.

5 Moon Bears were successfully rescued from a Bear Bile farm in Vietnam, and after 4 days of travelling they reached their new home this morning for a quarantine period and medical treatment. They will then be able to go outside and forage and play after 21 years in cages without any stimulation or decent food. Mainly gruel was fed to them. They travelled well and looked relaxed on their arrival.

Couldn't watch the video for more than a few seconds Granny, just awful what they do .. same with the Rhino and tigers and other animals , stupidly believing that certain parts are healing and gives you powers ect, what Rubbish!! Whole animal slaughtered for nothing...
Nice to see them once they rescued . That's why I like watching Brooke's Falls bears, they can fight and have terrible injuries but on the whole they well fed , safe and seem happy living as they should in their national Park. As long as they don't stray they cant be hunted within Katmai.
