BRAZIER - I was racking my brains for that and failed miserably.

I remember them huts. I was an apprentice for the council back in the sixties, but you only got one if you did not have a handcart. Because they had to be delivered by truck and only the top tradesmen got them and the ganger of course.

The hut on the previous page was posh ! This is how I remember them,( the cocky watchmen) and they were always really old men. Probably councils saving cash !
I used to worry about those old chaps, it seemed sad but I was only young, so probably not easy to grasp from your warm cosy bed at nights.

In the stands with his giant leek, "I woz there", my favourite tale of his was when Wales were playing France and he ordered L'escargot and chips (Snails). Yuk.

Does anyone remember or know of any photographs of a church/ place of worship towards the bottom of Carlton Road in Birkenhead. It was bombed in the war? I can remember playing on the bomb site in the 60s before the new houses were built.

Do you mean, Harland Rd off Church Road, Higher Tranmere 1911?

Now it's off Derby Rd, Church Rd end blocked off.
