He did say a while ago he wanted to reduce the USA contributions to the UN and make the other countries pay their fair share. Perhaps its something to do with that as well as the more obvious issues of money and business.
He's definitely another war mongerer, a lot of a country's internal problems get swept under the carpet when they are at war. The antagonism of Russia is ridiculous, I think he's calling Putin's bluff because he doesn't think Russia have enough money to do something serious.
If he thinks sticking an American Embassy in Jerusalem will prevent any attacks he should look at history.

He must know that though. So what could his philosophy be ?
Well this "Jerusalem should be the capital" stuff is always in the background in the US isnt it, didnt their Congress rule that that should be the case a few presidents ago , but put a clause in that the implementation could always be deferred for six months indefinitely. So, it comes up every six months to be reviewed .Previous presidents have rubber stamped the deferral -- I reckon that Trump has been thwarted on so many of his promises made before election, that he thinks this is one he can appear to be keeping , whilst not actually going ahead with , using the excuse of deferral for one reason or another . That apparent promise will win him a lot of serious brownie points with the Jewish lobby groups , and he might be hoping he can use it to lure votes from Jewish democrats to support his dwindling Republican vote too. His move also means it will cause trouble in the middle east, so maybe he wants the US to have a refreshed reason to hang around there interfering . Wars are very good for US economy. Also ,the US already have a consulate in Jerusalem- if he was serious in going ahead with this , he could easily have transformed that into a temporary Embassy whilst he built his new one. It could all be political hot air.

It could be political hot air, but in the meantime there are people fighting in the streets again, probably injuries and deaths to follow. The situation will no doubt develop into another atrocity if Israelis have their way, and with divide amongst people gives the necessary void for IS to move in, as they have in so many more countries that have been divided in recent years.
Kim in North Korea has also said there will be war now, just a case of when. How can the US afford all these wars ? They'll drag everyone else in too. But hey, all the people in the US will be safe away from harm, yet again. Just let the remainder of the world pick up the slack

He's got Jewish family and probably been influenced by the Christian Zionists in the USA. Thing is his statement doesn't actually make Jerusalem the capital of Israel. Pity the Palestinians didnt just take the p out of him. A calculated statement to deliberately raise tensions?
