Wirral Borough Council has unveiled a series of improvements and upgrades to Bromborough section of the A41 / New Chester Road.
The council announced it's plans as 'the vision of the future, bringing both safety to pedestrians and giving driver's the same feeling as an oven ready chicken being shunted down the factory production line'.

The 'safety incentive' will bring the amount of traffic lights along the two mile stretch of road from New Ferry Bypass to junction 3 of the M53 motorway from 23 to 1,356.

The improvements were outlined during the council's bi-monthly budget meeting held in the "Hotel President Wilson" in Geneva.

a) Install traffic lights at Mark Rake
a) Install traffic lights at Caldbeck Road
a) Install traffic lights between Mark Rake and Caldbeck Road
a) Install traffic lights between traffic lights between Mark Rake and Caldbeck
e) Install one way system on the section between Caldbeck Road and Mark Rake
f) Install a mini-roundabout (with traffic lights) between traffic lights between Old Hall Road and Mark Rake
g) Install a video-game inspired 'teleportation' device from Old Hall Lane back to Mark Rake.
h) Bus lane between Traffic Calming Measure #345 and Traffic Calming Measure #346
i) Get Neptune Developments to do it
j) Install installation
k) Spike strips
l) Install 'Road AIDS'

Wirral Borough Council's leader 'Phil Davies' refused to comment as 'he didn't have to'.

I remember with great happiness driving North of Glasgow on long roads almost traffic free - just wonderful.

So near the truth unfortunately, for our main "Industrial Corridor" in the area it is getting ridiculous and forcing more vehicles through domestic areas.

They need to make Thermal Road/Stadium Road/Old Hall Road into a proper bypass.

I would of thought all lights would be suspended so its a clear run straight to the golf course. No stopping no spending money elsewhere. Save it for the niclous club shop.

Golf is plummeting in popularity with clubs closing everywhere. I doubt if the new one - if it is built at all - will last very long.

It may get converted to a solar farm, as is happening in Japan with closed golf courses. The power it generates can be used to supply the traffic lights.

And rename 'Riverview Road' to 'Factoryview Road'.

That area has been industrial for a long time, we used to have the massive power stations and other things like chemical works that have been flattened over the years. The margarine works building is still standing.

We need industry for money and employment, everywhere was green at one time, industry has to go somewhere as does housing.

You forgot to make every lane a bus lane and fit cameras so the council can retrieve the costs through fines incurred due to the lack of intelligible signage.

The first set of traffic lights coming from New Ferry has no grounding in common sense - they are on red for just under two minutes. When they go on red, you get a bulk of cars coming through, and then nothing for about twenty to thirty seconds, and then a short amount, and then nothing. When the lights go to green, you get the bulk coming through, who has to wait thirty or so seconds for them to change again.
There seems to be a large portion of time where there is never any cars coming through at all, ever.
There are several lights along the A41 that go to red to let a single car come in, and then sit for at least ten seconds, before turning to green.
I spent a year on this road every morning along with everyone else and I know everyone has thought the same way.

PS I'm not moaning about traffic lights, I'm moaning against F- for effort contractors spending a couple of hours observing traffics lights at whatever time, and setting it at that.
