Do you eat Cadbury's chocolate or Ferrero ?

There’s no doubt as to the responsibility of cocoa for the colossal environmental damage. “The ancient forests of our nation, once a paradise for wildlife like chimpanzees, leopards, hippopotamus, and elephants, have been degraded and deforested to the point that they’re almost entirely gone”, says Kouamé Soulago Fernand, General Secretary of ROSCIDET, a network of Ivorian NGOs.

“This deforestation is due principally to the cultivation of cocoa.”

I wasn't aware that our nation's ancient forests had wildlife like Chimpanzees, Leopards, Hippopotamus, and Elephants in them. It must have been a real shock for Robin Hood and his merry men.

Flippant remarks aside Granny, it's a great cause and I've signed it.
Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Thanks everyone. It is, at the end of the day in our own interests to support such petitions. The power they have is next to none in bringing about awareness, consultations and in many ,many cases eventual action.
We are the voices of those who can't speak.

@ assassin. I sign loads of petitions from reputable organisers. Never have I had any problem. Only an email, to thank me for the support and no further spam or anything else.

This site 'SumOfUs'is well above board. Please read:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SumOfUs

SumOfUs is a global advocacy organization and online community that campaigns to hold big corporations accountable on issues such as climate change, workers’ rights, discrimination, human rights, animal rights, corruption, and corporate power grab. It’s a non-profit organization operating in three languages currently reporting ten million members[citation needed] over 130 countries

It would be good if they took notice. Unfortunately ,when contacting companies directly, they tend not to respond.

Just had the first begging email off SumOfUs. I unsubscribed so we'll see if they take notice.

I keep an email address especially for petitions, forums and suchlike , then I just every week run my eyes down the whole page , and usually am able to delete the lot in one go. Anything of interest I move to a folder.
