When I was young girl, my pocket money religiously went on collecting Britain's Floral Garden. Anyone remember it ? Cost about 1/2d (6 pence) for a packet of bricks or flowers or paving etc. I have found this on ebay, selling for 225 ... oshocked

[Linked Image]

Ok, so that's the first chapter over.

Having visited Goredale a couple of weeks ago,( which is seriously dangerous at this time of year) They had in stock Lemax miniature Christmas stock.
So what do think Granny did ? Yes...spent a fortune ,in anticipation.

Here is the first trial of a combined old and new project . There is to be snow and fluff along with lights and other stuff yet, but this is the first set up.

Are you doing any special Christmas crafts or displays this year.

All our Chrismas decorations are old and tired, but Christmas would not be Christmas without them. We add one or two every year, but already have more than we need.

We have some Christmas tree robins and reindeers which were originally bought in a sad state. My youngest son was a very soft-hearted child, and could not bear the thought that robins with broken wings or Rudolphs with broken antlers etc might not get bought and be left weeping in George Henry Lees (as was) instead of on a Chrismas tree, so we had to select all the halt and maim Christmas creatures. The tree looked like the waiting room of an A&E department!

I think I have a tree from that series, the one at the top of the picture - it's in with the farm animals my grandsons have fun with (when they're not playing with Lego, anyway). I have quite a large dolls house in the living room and that always has a festive make-over, with fake snow and a little Christmas tree and other glittery 'frosted' trees. That was the closest I got to snow last winter!

Simple !

Then comes the real thing. By-pass the polystyrene carving. I will be using upside down foil baking trays

Those large houses are about 30 and upwards ! (just so you know crazy )

Dolls houses are my passion, Greenwood. My daughter's is still here and I have collected dozens of bits over the years. Here are a few that are very seasonal. They go in the attic. It's a Tudor house with a witch who is into alchemy and who lives on the top floor, hidden away laugh

Your youngest son sounded adorable Ex .I love kids that show a bit of compassion. We have also got old decorations -from when I was a kid. Battered, but I wouldnt part with them.

Next stage... trial. Put it all away again now until nearer the time. There are various additions to be included such as moss and grit (if it works) . They will have to be on the final push.

Thanks Snowhite and Cools.

Half an hour and a lot of fiddling, Cools. Just wish I had a bigger table.( thinking about it, that might be dangerous)
