Worrying sign from Russia. Courts have ruled them as extremists..hitler did the same....

Having done some extensive study about "the organisation" during my own enlightenment period i would only see them as extremely misguided. Often mostly sincere people who at some time either fell out with mainstream christian faiths or got suckered in by the friendly adherants knocking on a door. The watchtower and awake magazines use a clever brainwashing technique of strawman arguements and then providing a false answer.which has the effect of making you feel what they say is correct.like a lot of religous organisations they have had sex abuses covered up by their hierarchy.
This russian persecution will be used by their organisation to "prove they are in the truth" trotting out the same old bible verses that speak about persecution.

That said it is a worrying move by the russian courts.

Accused of being extremists ! Karl Marx did the same according to the Washington Post, and sent one group to Siberia. Although I can't agree with their certain teaching and practices to be followed, it's a bit harsh. Maybe I'm missing something ?

"
After six days of hearings, the Supreme Court sided with the government on Thursday. They ruled that the group's St. Petersburg headquarters and 395 churches could be seized and liquidated. All church activities, including worship and door-to-door evangelizing, were banned. Those who defy the ruling face a fine of several thousand dollars and six to 10 years in prison."

Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect.

Religion is a complicated thing it means a lot of different to people

you have your

1. (Theists believe in the existence of a god or gods

2. ( An atheist doesn’t believe in a god or divine being

3. (an agnostic neither believes nor disbelieves in a god or religious doctrine. Agnostics assert that it’s impossible for human beings to know anything about how the universe was created and if divine beings exist)

4 ( a deist believes in God. But a deist believes that while God created the universe, natural laws determine how the universe plays out.

Deists are often connected to Isaac Newton’s Clockwork Universe theory, where the universe is compared to a clock that has been wound up and set in motion by God but is governed by the laws of science.

I myself think there's something that started to all off I just can't get my head around the big bang then life begins (what made the big bang if nothing was there? I'm not saying there's a god
but I do find I pray when family are sick, I think it's help as you're talking it gets your worries off your mind.

what I find funny is that the atheist shout the loudest about Religion pray bowdown

I am not sure what you would have instead...a "belief" that God doesn't exist. atheism becomes the new religion?

There is no need to have anything instead. Just lead a good and honest life without the belief in anything supernatural.

I'm confused Ste maybe you can clear this up, you say there's no religion eg God, but you go on ghost hunts and you've put pictures up showing what you believe are ghosts how does this work?

Ps not having a go I'm just confused smile

I believe all religion is false, and was started to keep the masses in place,

i do however believe in something after death, although i dont believe in heaven or hell, i dont know what it is but i have a feeling there is something more,

I dont think religion of any type should be allowed to be forced on minors by their parents guardians schools churches etc, but maybe there could be a class in school that is about all the various beleif systems so children are informed rather than brainwashed by adults, and at 18 they can decide for themselves if they want to follow a particular one or not,

I dont think people should be punished for following a belief, if it brings them comfort then whats the harm, its only if they then try preaching that everyone else is wrong and they are right that the problems start.

I dont know if this makes me agnostic i am just someone who thinks its all nonsense,

Madge...Only problem with that argument is that who was it started by and when? The different religions all started at different times.
I would agree though that certain religious beliefs and practices within certain religions are there to keep the person in an element of fear . The cults are very good at that.

I think man naturally has degree of belief in things beyond what we see and the questions of how did we get here how did the universe come into being etc etc are extensions of that belief and questioning. Some people will look at everything in the world and think that it must have had a "hand" behind it rather than some random lottery of chance and time.

So, because man didn't know how it all started he invented God and said " there's the answer"."
