Found an injured female blackbird today that had been savaged by a cat. Snowhite captured it in a towel, put it in a cat carrier and took it indoors to warm up and rest - it didn't put up any fight.
After a few hours it was starting to look a lot livelier so after Snowhite fed it on meal worms she took it outside for release.
It flew a bit shakily up to the top of a nearby small tree, waited a few seconds then made a beautiful flight to where I presume its home is.

Some nice news to start the day. Well done Snowhite. One happy blackbird, he may come back for more meal worms.

Still some feathers lying around and a cat that keeps checking under the car where the blackbird had been hiding, definitely a near miss!
Freebird - absolutely classic song but I used to get a lift to work of a guy that played it non-stop in his car. After a lot of therapy I used it as a ring tone on my phone 38 years later - thanks JU, love you really
