Inokashira Park Zoo in Tokyo: Hanako lives for 61 years alone in a concrete prison! Give her a real life or send her to a sanctuary!

Thanks to those who tried.

Very sadly, Hanako passed away a couple of weeks ago. It had been decided by someone, that she was too old to move from her grey concrete lifestyle that she had lived with for over 65 yrs. Ironically, after she died her concrete pen was strewn with 1000's of flowers..... So soft to walk on !

Her name 'Hanako' meant little flower. Such a shame she was never allowed to see a flower or smell one during her long, lonely ,miserable existence.

I'm happy she's gone now and it's one more thing Japan will be remembered for frown

I have just viewed the worst of cruelty to elephants. I don't know if I should put it up on here, it might upset some. With that in mind, something has to be done !

I have just posted two links to family and friends by email and hope they will send it on. Particularly to anyone they may know in USA, although this is not solely happening in USA. The cruelty is barbaric and needs to get to the widest audience possible throughout the world . Only then will people turn their backs on circuses and elephant rides.

If I post the two links, the video is on the ADI site , so be warned. I could hardly finish watching it, but please help if you can.

NO FUN FOR ELEPHANTS CAMPAIGN.

http://www.ad-international.org/animals_in_entertainment/go.php?id=3034

The second link is for those living USA , to contact Senators and representatives.

http://www.stopcircussuffering.com/get-involved/usa-get-involved/support-teapa/

quote" Jan Creamer, ADI President: "We believe that once people see how these animals suffer behind the scenes, they will not endorse such cruelty. We realize an elephant walking around a small enclosure giving rides looks like a bit of harmless fun, but it takes a vicious training regime to get these wild animals to be so quiet and compliant in public. We know that event organizers will be shocked and will agree that these rides and appearances bring shame on their event."
