.....and while we wait for some good news about Luna, there is also a Four Paws Rescue happening right now , in Gaza. Animals from Rafa Zoo, approx. 40 of them, so a massive task. Good Luck to Four Paws.

Whilst we wait, here is a jolly little video to brighten our spirits. Made for International Happiness Day this week, and it makes me joyful hope it does for you too.

Latest update on Luna.. cry

Our team of vets and care givers have been with Luna all night long. She has been receiving intravenous fluid therapy since last night. The intravenous fluids administered to her via drip is a carefully calibrated mixture of electrolytes and B-complex solution. We are pleased to report that Luna has slowly started to eat. She’s just now snacking on some juicy cucumbers and watermelon. We are making sure she stays well hydrated and have kept large buckets full of fresh cool water right next to her that she has been drinking intermittently.
Luna has been given painkillers to help her deal with the pain in her hind leg. She is too weak to get up but we are trying our level best to help her regain strength. Please send her prayers and keep her in your thoughts. We will keep you posted.

Yet more proof in the last week that no-deal Brexit is the best option. German economy is nose-diving, US economy is nose-diving and yet despite being close to a no-deal Brexit the UK economy and Sterling are holding up extremely well (the FTSE is down because of Global issues).

There have been virtually no official conversations about the impact of no-deal Brexit apart from project fear which have been proven to be wrong time and time again.

A few days ago various EU leaders said they were going to veto any extension to Brexit yet here we are, they were bluffing and lying to us in order to try and punish us.

We have Project Fear from the EU, Project Fear from the media, Project Fear from most of the UK Parliament and it is all propaganda.

So we are back here again.

Surprise, surprise . The journalists seem to quite like this ongoing fiasco and see it as 'exciting' as one said to another.

So what do any of you wish for now . I don't care anymore.. along with so many others, it makes one give up the will to live.

Now there will be 4 choices.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-47675261

Theresa May has told MPs there might not be a third vote on her Brexit deal next week if there is insufficient support for it to pass.

She said there were now four "clear choices". These were:
◾Approving her deal next week - which relies on Commons Speaker John Bercow allowing her to put it to MPs to vote on again, which he has ruled will not be allowed unless "substantial" changes are made to it
◾Asking for another extension before 12 April - which would mean the UK would have to take part in elections for the European Parliament
◾Revoking Article 50 - cancelling Brexit - which Mrs May said would "betray the result of the referendum"
◾Leaving with no deal

I don't remember saying that. I have an increase in funding of 41% since 2010 which is about 13% ahead of inflation.

Lincle, you should see what's going on in Syria at the moment. The dogs and cats are being used as instruments for taking revenge for 7 yrs of war, by the children who have known no difference ! Messed up in the heads.

But, I didn't know dogs ears were cut off for any reason, as in this case. It's got to be a criminal act in this country .

OMG what a dreadful thing to do .I didnt know such a procedure existed . The pain must have been awful but these people dont care about that . Tail docking, ear cropping I dread to think what else is going on in the doggy world. If you have dogs love them as they are as no matter what you do to them they will love you in return.

That is horrific. Such cruelty, she shouldn't be allowed to have any animals. Poland do not have a very high standard for animal welfare and when we leave the EU ours might improve.
Terrible.

Money money money , never mind the pain to the animal. What some people will do to make sure their dogs can fetch the most money possible is sickening.

Only just noticed this article today , so a bit out of date as it was February. Please note that the salon where this happened are the ones who flagged up that there may be a problem , and set cameras to check it out . The person who appears to be mishandled a dog has now left there, but is setting up her own salon . https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...V-holding-squirming-pet-scruff-neck.html

Thankyou Bertieone for this information.
The cost of passage money to Western Australia in 1829 is interesting. I think the Swan River settlement wasn't very successful.. In Tasmania (another Australian state) 'Early free settlers in the 1820s could obtain land grants based on the money they brought into the colony and if they appeared to be 'suitable' people with letters of recommendation'. Members of the Barnes, Wilson and Manifold families from the Wirral arrived this way. As these young men had a good basic education, I was trying to work out where they may have gone to school. Also, trying to find out if any descendants of these families still live on the Wirral?

A day late.

On 20th March 1345 (allegedly)

According to scholars at the University of Paris, the Black Death is created on this day in 1345, from what they call “a triple conjunction of Saturn, Jupiter and Mars in the 40th degree of Aquarius, occurring on the 20th of March 1345″. The Black Death, also known as the Plague, swept across Europe, the Middle East and Asia during the 14th century, leaving an estimated 25 million dead in its wake.

Read on. Very interesting.

There was a strong connection with these families through church and family ties, shown in parish records, for both Bromborough and Eastham. Are there any descendants of these families who possess diaries/records of the early 1800s which might suggest how and where the children of these families were educated? Also, why in the 1820s did some members decide to emmigrate to Australia? Any information would be welcome as I would love to make contact with anyone with ideas!.
