Re: boxing club well lane

I vaguely remember a building in Victoria Park, directly behind the police station. This would have been early 1970s and it was removed around the mid 1970s. I remember it having steps up to it and being something to do with sports or training. Is that the same building? Sounds like the old bowling pavilion, like most park pavilions it had steps up either side to the balcony. This was immediately behind the Well Lane houses at the Police Station end, but I thought it was well gone by the 1970s. There was another smaller building behind it, I think part of that sold ice-creams at one time? Then there is the now derelict Community Centre building on the Albany Road side, I remember something else being there before that was built but it might just have been an electricity substation?
